~Grammar~

Yesterday morning when Dax woke up he said, and I quote, "I slept very well mom." YES! He has good grammar :) That is my boy!

{Fever}

Sunday morning Dax and I woke up with coughs. I asked Dax is he was sick and he told me he had a fever! A cabin fever! He is absolutely hilarious and too stinkin' smart for his age.

Luckily, Dax was not the one with the fever, it was his momma and boy was I/am I SIIIICK! I do not remember the last time I was this sick. I was able to get into a Dr yesterday afternoon and he told me I have Bronchitis/Asthma and he also threw in a, "Wow, you look and sound really sick." Yes, thanks for stating the obvious John Madden. I got a shot in my hip and 3, yes 3 prescriptions. Thank goodness for modern medicine, because I couldn't live like that for long. I am a wuss and proud of it!

It was ME!

Last night while I was at Spin class, Dax went to my parents to hang out. He enjoys their house lots better than the gym. Unless Dak is with us, then he is happy to be there.


Well my dad received a package via UPS while Dax was there. It was some kind of a small motor for his tractors or something that he had ordered, but had forgotten about. This is the conversation that went along with the opening of the package:


Dax: What is it Grandpa?
Gramps: It is a motor, but I don't think I ordered this.
{Dax's face goes pale and he gets a horrified look on his face}
Dax: It was me Grandpa. I pushed some buttons on the internet and ordered this little black motor for you...

Hahaha OF COURSE he didn't order it, but he is so sweet and innocent and so quick to admit when he has done something wrong. Even when he hasn't!

*Growing Up So Fast*

As you all know, Dax and Dak both got new hamsters last week.

Conversation between the 2 boys last night:

Dak: Is you hamster still a baby Dax?
Dax: Yeah he is but he is getting bigger.
Dak: They are just growing up too fast, aren't they?
Dax: Yes! It is so sad!

Hmmm, do you think they listen to every word their mothers say? ;)

Hot Tubbin'

This is what Dax has been up to the last few days!!! Lovin' every minute of it :)

Winter???

We have had a very mild winter. It has been cold, but compared to the last few years it has been super dry for us and I am not complaining! Though, I am 90% sure we will have snow before the end of the week.

Saturday my dad decided to take us on his rhino up to our property on the mountain to check everything out. We bundled up warm and had a great time. There was a foot or so of snow up where we camp, but not as much as normal. Usually a snow mobile is needed to get in there. Needless to say, Dax had a blast and there were plenty of snow ball fights had!!!

I lost my motivation! I think it was sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Before that, I was kicking butt and doing so great. But I don't care if it kills me, I am back at it and sticking to it. It is hard to be the chubby girl! So my quote for the week is......

Radishes

Dax must be growing into a big, little boy. We went to the dentist yesterday and had a much better experience than the past. Monday night, as I was preparing Dax for the dentist and telling him all the usual things, it doesn't hurt, they are just cleaning and counting them, etc., he said well if I don't cry can I get a Thundy Thunder??? (Thundy was Dak's dwarf hamster that passed away a few weeks ago R.I.P. Thundy ;) I said yes, mainly because I was 99% sure he would freak out like our past experiences. Well I was dead wrong! He did GREAT!!

And so, we are proud to introduce the newest member of our little family, Radishes!!!

He is just itty, bitty and so cute!!! Dax ADORES HIM!

Happy Haircut

Dax doesn't enjoy getting getting his haircut, to say the least! It has been a crying fight everytime and we haven't, until yesterday, had a finished hair cut.

Last night, we were at my parents house and Ronnie was getting ready to cut my dad's hair. Out of no where, with no questions to him if he wanted a hair cut, Dax said, "I want my hair cut!" So, we sat him in the chair and Aunt Ronnie cut his hair. He didn't cry, he didn't scream, he didn't tell us that we were hurting his hairs, he didn't complain that it was itch! I was so very proud of him, he is such a good boy!

And look at that face, how cannot you not be proud of him!!??

#4 - Be Happy with Myself

In my New Years Resolutions post, my #4 was to be happy with myself. I know we all struggle with this, but you know what, there is no reason for that! I think if we were all truly happy with ourselves, we would be better people.

A little over a year ago, two of the most amazing things came into our lives - Ashley and Dak! It has been such a blessing for ALL of us! Dax and Dak (say that 5 times fast) are a month different in age and they get along so dang good. Ashley and I have been in a lot of the same situations in our lives and we get along like sisters. How lucky are all 4 of us???

Last night Dak was at our house and it was time to relax and watch a movie before his momma came to get him. So I made them a bed on the floor, made them choco and turned on a movie. I told them to relax and have quiet time and about 5 minutes later was this:

Dax: Mom, I just want to talk to Dak. Can we just talk?
Dak: No! Let's smuggle!!!

Seriously, these boys are so sweet and fun!

GJ: What did I say???

Dax: P... P.... P... STUPID!!!!

2012 - A New Start!

Happy New Year!!!

With the New Year, I have made some resolutions and this year I am STICKING TO IT!

Here they are:

1. Lose Weight/Become a healthy me!!! I am truly doing it this time.

2. Blog - And thus I am here!

3. Organize my life, so I can afford/feel comfortable to purchase my home at the end of the year.

4. Learn to be happy with myself. I struggle with this SO VERY much and I am not going to let myself do it anymore!

5. Be the BEST me! I know what this consumes of (:
